GCSE Maths Tutor
I teach GCSE Maths to prepare secondary school children for their exams. Children are welcome from all years of secondary age. Focusing on the needs of each individual is my priority. Therefore my lessons are taught in small groups, with a maximum of four to a class. In addition, my planning takes each child’s ability into account. In this way, I can ensure a more personal learning experience than available in larger groups.
Boosting confidence in each child’s ability is a key goal of my lessons. To support this, classes are differentiated so that children of similar ability work together. I look to fill knowledge gaps, consolidate existing skills, and challenge the more able children.
Booster sessions to consolidate maths topics are important now more than ever. In normal times, the leap from primary to secondary can be a challenging step. Following the school closures many children are struggling to keep up in all years of secondary. For those children who have the ability to move up into higher sets, booster maths sessions are essential. I teach GCSE foundation level maths and the higher GCSE level giving exam preparation support for those in KS4.
You and your family’s safety comes above all else. I also want to give you the confidence that lessons will continue should stricter lockdown restrictions take place again. I’ve concluded that the best way to achieve this is to provide all my classes online, and this will continue for the foreseeable future. I can provide the same high quality tuition as I can for face to face classes. Online tuition has brought benefits that face to face teaching could not. For example, time slot flexibility and reduced travel time and expense being the most obvious. I now offer my classes to children across the U.K.
One thing 2020 has taught us, is that we have the tools and ability teach and learn online effectively. The more fortunate children among us had high quality teaching and online resources during the 2020 schools closures. As a result, their experience of learning at home has been as good as being in the classroom. I pride myself on my lesson quality and aim to give an online learning experience that is as good as face to face teaching. I use the best GCSE Maths learning resources and draw on my own ten years experience as a classroom teacher. In conclusion, I can keep lessons fun and engaging, without the need for you to travel or be concerned about Covid risk from my classroom.
